Natalie Blair appeared in Loaded, the British men’s monthly often credited with setting the template for the whole lads’-mag genre.
Loaded had a particular attitude. Before the weeklies arrived, it was the title that blended football, music, comedy and glamour into one irreverent package, and by the time of this feature it remained a familiar name in British newsagents. A glamour spread in Loaded was expected to carry some of that personality: playful, confident and witty in its framing, rather than simply decorative.
Natalie Blair’s feature fits that mould. As a monthly, Loaded could give its shoots time and space, so features usually ran across several pages with a clear theme holding them together. Styling, set and pacing were planned so that the spread worked as a whole, from the opening image to the closing frame.
